Microscopic Electrolysis

Microscopic Electrolysis

What is Microscopic Electrolysis?

Microscopic electrolysis is the treatment of unwanted hair by inserting a fine disposable sterilized probe alongside the hair, into the hair follicle, with the aid of a surgical microscope and epilator. A small amount of energy (heat) is then applied through this probe to the base of the hair follicle, destroying germ cells lining the follicle and the hair root. This process allows all fine hairs to be easily seen and the disposable probe is able to directly enter the follicle smoothly and efficiently, increasing patient comfort and effectively destroying the root of the hair. Electrolysis is an effective permanent hair removal solution that has been used for over 100 years.

Electrolysis is recommended to treat sensitive areas on individuals such as lip, chin, eyebrows, ears, nose, and hairline. Electrolysis works on all skin types and tones. With electrolysis, each hair has to be individually treated, but due to the effectiveness of the treatment, the frequency and treatment time needed by an individual will decrease over time.

Electrolysis is safe and effective with very little side effects. These side effects range from some slight redness or swelling, but many patients return to normal activity after approximately 15 minutes. At Adesso, appointments are booked in 15 minute intervals.
